I cannot get the 150mm line to be the size I need it to be. I am trying to print out the template and it is almost an inch to half an inch difference in size. In your printer setting please select the type of paper that you are printing on but DO NOT SCALE THE TEMPLATES TO FIT THE PAPER. The templates are FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH BOTH A4 AND US LETTER PAPER. Do any of your plans run right up to the edge, or will I be okay printing on letter? Letter is a bit wider and a bit shorter than A4. I'm in the US where letter-sized paper is easier to come by than A4. The PDF templates are black and white with the idea that you can decorate the mask yourself. So do I need a colour printer for these masks? Besides it’s very satisfying turning what is waste 2D material into a 3D mask. The instructions and templates are designed to be easy to follow, so that the mask can be assembled by anyone, using local materials and removing the need for shipping. The original idea was to produce a low impact alternative to shop bought masks. I’m based in the UK and I think that the cost, difficulty and not to mention the environmental impact of shipping a large, fragile object to the US, for example, would be prohibitive. You get an immediate download you then print out. Yes you can pay with PayPal via the Esty site.ĭo I get a download or do you ship it to my address? I have no credit card can I pay with PayPal? The shows contained stock footage of San Francisco, with pan shots of Coit Tower or clips of traffic scenes. The show was filmed in a mixture of locations, sometimes in San Francisco, but also with a large number of studio scenes (including scenes with conversations in a moving vehicle, where a traffic backdrop is used). Gene Lyons as Commissioner Dennis Randall (recurring role).Barbara Anderson as Officer Eve Whitfield.Don Galloway as Detective Sergeant Ed Brown. After NBC's midseason cancellation, however, the syndicated episodes reverted to the Ironside title. As the shortened eighth and final season began (only 16 of 19 episodes produced were aired by NBC), Universal released a syndicated rerun package of episodes from earlier seasons under the title The Raymond Burr Show, reflecting the practice of that time to differentiate original network episodes from syndicated reruns whenever possible. The series enjoyed a seven-and-a-half-season run on NBC, drawing respectable, if not always high ratings. Although Ironside is portrayed as good-hearted and honest, he maintains a gruff persona. The show became a success as Ironside depended on brains and initiative in solving cases. At the end of the episode, the patrol wagon is replaced by a one-off fully custom modified 1969 1-ton Ford Econoline Window Van. This is replaced in the episode titled "Poole's Paradise" after the van is destroyed by Sergeant Brown as part of a plan to trick a corrupt sheriff. Ironside acquires a specially equipped, former fleet-modified 1940 1 + 1⁄ 2-ton Ford police patrol wagon, with bulletproof glass and a specially modified high-performance supercharged and fuel-injected V-8 engine. He recruits Mark Sanger to be his personal assistant after Sanger is brought in as a suspect who wanted to kill Ironside. Ironside uses a fourth-floor room (for living and office space) in the old San Francisco Hall of Justice building, which housed the city's police headquarters. Commissioner Randall was played by Gene Lyons.Īfter the program's fourth season, Anderson left for personal reasons, and her character was then replaced by another young policewoman, Fran Belding ( Elizabeth Baur), who filled much the same role for four more years. In addition, delinquent-turned assistant Mark Sanger ( Don Mitchell), who subsequently attends and graduates from law school (night classes were mentioned from early on), joins the San Francisco police force himself in the sixth season, then marries late in the run of the series. Edward "Ed" Brown ( Don Galloway) and a young socialite-turned-plainclothes officer, Eve Whitfield ( Barbara Anderson). Supporting characters on Ironside included Det. He requests Ed Brown and Eve Whitfield be assigned to him as his own private law enforcement squad. In the pilot, Ironside eventually solves the mystery of the ambush. He does this by calling a press conference and then tricking Commissioner Randall into meeting his terms. In the pilot episode, a television movie, Ironside shows his strength of character and gets himself appointed a peculiar and unprecedented job a "special department consultant", by his good friend, Police Commissioner Dennis Randall. Ironside ( Raymond Burr), a veteran of more than 20 years of police service, forced to retire from the department after a sniper's bullet to the spine paralyzed him from the waist down, resulting in his reliance on a wheelchair. The series revolves around former San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Chief of Detectives Robert T. Ironside was a production of Burr's Harbour Productions Unlimited in association with Universal Television. The show earned Burr six Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations. When the series was broadcast in the United Kingdom, from late 1967 onward, it was broadcast as A Man Called Ironside. The character debuted on March 28, 1967, in a TV movie entitled Ironside. Ironside (usually addressed by the title "Chief Ironside"), a consultant for the San Francisco police department (formerly chief of detectives), who was paralyzed from the waist down after being shot while on vacation. The show starred Raymond Burr as Robert T. Ironside is an American television crime drama that aired on NBC over eight seasons from 1967 to 1975. Study the ball layout and the ball paths to determine how the shot was played. There are two ways you can use these examples. The second is how the pro player made the point. The first is the ball positions on the table. For each shot, there are two table layouts. This is an extensive assortment of cross-corner shots, each showing an successful scoring attempt. The cue ball can follow a simple diagonal, a parallel diagonal, and even triple diagonals. The cue ball comes out of one corner of the table and then goes diagonally across the table into the other corner. One of the more interesting cue ball patterns in 3-cushion billiards is the diagonal cross-corner shot. If its possible to play an easy safety to get ball in hand, then playing safe is a great idea.We use cookies and similar tools that are necessary to enable you to make purchases, to enhance your shopping experiences and to provide our services, as detailed in our Cookie Notice. Let’s say you have a difficult shot that you could make, but the rest of the rack lays tough, but if you had ball in hand the rack would be easier. Another reason you might want to play safe is because you could gain an advantage over your opponent. If that is the case its probably time to play safe and in the process either a) move your balls so you can make them or b) move his so he can’t easily run out. The best time to play safe is whenever you feel like you can’t run out all of your ball successfully. This means that in order to hit the one ball the cue ball will have to hit a rail first which highly increases your chances of the other player missing that shot and either getting ball in hand or you’ll get an open shot on the one ball. In the example above the cue ball is hidden from the one ball so the cue ball is in a safe position. Other safties might leave a long shot on the rail or leave the object ball so it cannot be pocketed without a hard bank from its given position. The best safeties leave the cue ball so your opponent can’t pocket any of his own balls on his turn. What is a safety?Ī safety is a defensive shot thats goal is to limit your opponents options. Besides safeties add a whole new dimension to pool that really makes it a game about more than skill but also strategy. This doesn’t make a whole lot of sense since what sport is there that is all offense and no defense? As far as I know none exists and none should exist in the first place. Some people try to discredit safties and say that real players don’t play safe or that its a cheap way to play pool. In these situations its best to play defense and play what is called a safety. Whether it be because you made a mistake, your opponent left you a tough shot, or just by chance you weren’t able to pocket a ball there are often situations where playing offense is not the best move. Unfortunately its not always easy or possible to make every shot. I like the idea of being able to sharpen router bits as well. He wants a little more than thousand dollars for it. One of my local suppliers has a German machine that is similar to the BitMaster but does not have as many adjustments. It sounds like the BitMaster is the way to go. I'm not sure if there's insurance over there, but all you need is to have one set lost in the mail and you’re out a lot of cash, not to mention the downtime from not having bits ready when you need them! I don't think I'd want to ship them for sharpening where you are. I know you’re on the other side of things, so I'm thinking if you’re still as busy as you've been the last couple years, why not make the investment for the machine? Once you get a guy trained up on how to use it correctly you could even offset the cost by offering the service for other shops in the area which must have the same sharpening issues you do?Īlternatively, could you get the grinding wheel and fabricate the jigs in house? Would save you a bit of cash, but you have to have someone with a bit of ingenuity to do it. For now I just need to sharpen my boring machine tooling. But I do not know if it is worth my time to develop the business. Labor is cheap here so even a manual sharpener could be profitable. I might even start offering sharpening services. I have considered sending my bits to Austrailia for sharpening, but that means I would have to have two complete sets of tooling, which would cost as much as a sharpening machine. I send out my saw blades, but they are only barely acceptable. I live in a country where there is no reliable sharpening service. I'm surprised you wouldn't send them out to a saw blade shop. I have found this machine, which is more than 2K. I can’t imagine using a dremel tool and hand grinding the tips. These are Lietz bits for our boring machine. I sharpen brad points with a die grinder and a 3/32 cut off wheel also can turn a regular drill bit into a brad with the same tool A local supplier showed me one machine but it seems over priced for what it is. I have something like 50 of these bits for the boring machines and there is no local company that can do it right. I have not seen a "drill-doctor" type machine that can do spur bits. Hand sharpening is too difficult because of the spurs and odd angles. DMT red ones are decent for router bits, etc. You should be able to touch them up with a 600 grit diamond file. I don't think there is a critter than will sharpen brad points regardless. It would have to be diamond abrasive to sharpen carbide. If there is a good multi function machine I am interested in that as well. I am looking for a simple drill bit sharpener for my carbide brad point bits. Inhabited letters contain humans, animals, or fantastic beasts that climb, crawl through, or spring forth from vegetal forms. Inhabited Initial V: The Descent of the Holy Spirit from a breviary, Italian, 1153 The hyphen in the middle, however, which links the two parts, is the Cross, signifying the tie between Mankind and God." VD is an abbreviation for "Vere dignum et iustum est" (It is truly fitting and proper), the phrase that began many of the central prayers of the medieval mass.Ī 12th-century scholar interpreted the monogram thus: " D, enclosed on all sides, signifies Divine Nature, which has neither beginning nor end V stands for Christ's human nature, which originated in the Virgin but is without end. The rounded forms of V and D are joined by a cross with a blue vertical beam to form a ligature, or single unit, in this page from a sacramentary, a a book used during Church services. See a close-up of the joined letters V and D. Ornamented Monogram VD from a sacramentary, French, about 1000–1025 Tendril and leaf forms derived from antique sculpture are carefully woven into an interlaced design that also recalls decorative medieval metalwork. Luxurious and ornate foliage patterns glorified the sacred words in books used during church services and in private prayer.įor the decoration of this imposing initial O from a benedictional (book of prayers used in the Mass), the painter drew on a vocabulary of classical foliage motifs. Eventually, artists began to focus their efforts on these initials. The earliest decorated letters served a practical purpose: to call attention to the beginning of a text or its most important passages. See a close-up of the foliage motifs in the O. Ornamented Initial O from a benedictional, Ottonian, about 1030–1040 This exhibition examines these different letter types in medieval manuscripts and explores what they reveal about changes in manuscript illumination over the course of many centuries.Įxuberant foliage decoration within the initial D shown above marks the beginning of Psalm 26, which translated from Latin begins, "The Lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear?" The thick acanthus leaves and single bud within the initial, as well as the foliate sprays and pen scrolls in the margins, are typical of late English Gothic manuscript painting. Other letters contain simple author portraits or serve as a frame for scenes of important events in a story. Within the letters, fantastic figures of humans, animals, and mythological beasts clamber through the tangled foliage and occasionally transform into letters themselves. On the pages of medieval manuscripts, vines and luxuriant leaves twist together to create letter forms.
